Head Injury Through Sport (HITS) is a charity founded in this, our Olympic year, by Sandra Cronan, Greta Morrison and Francesca Schwarzenbach, all of whom have been touched by head injury.
The mission of HITS is to help those who have suffered head injuries through sport by enhanced medical management and subsequent aftercare. One in six people in the UK are affected by a neurological disorder. This can be through birth, through a slowly developing illness or through brain injury.
Research shows that recovery and good outcome is vastly improved by early, accurate diagnosis and treatment, as well as aftercare to deal with longterm disability.
